The Calgary Colts board is sorting through growing pile of resumes in search of the junior football team’s head coach.
They hope to introduce the successful candidate by mid-December, says Mike Tuff, vice-president of the Prairie Football Conference team.
“We are not in a rush,” Tuff said. “ We want to find the right coach for the Calgary Colts. If we don’t find our coach in the first go-around we will keep looking.
“So, anyone who wants to submit a resume is welcome to do so.”
John Stevens after two seasons at the helm of the team to accept a job in the oil patch.
Stevens guided the Colts to an 8-0 regular season finish in 2012 and an 0-8 regular season record in 2013. He told the board of his plans to step down midway through the season and his resignation was accepted at that time.
Tuff said the decision was not related to the team’s record.
Tuff said the board currently has a shortlist of seven to eight candidates from a long list of 20 applicants that includes interest from coaches from across Western Canada.
“We are going to start doing interviews within the next couple of weeks and hope to have a new coach in place by early-to-mid December,” he said.
