Montreal- The RSEQ evaluation and acceptance committee met on December 3 to review all cases of teams in order to decide promotions of  relegation teams competing in CEGEP’s three divisions and the 2015 season.

Having met all the colleges involved in the process, RSEQ evaluation and acceptance committee ruled on several points considering that promotions upper division will be implemented during the second season of the decision.

For example in 2015, Division 1 will host two teams that advanced from Division 2 from the previous seasons – André- Grasset Phenix and Limoilou Titans. This decision will result in creating new rivalries since this division increases from eight to ten teams.

Meanwhile, Division 2 will always be composed of ten teams since the Valleyfield Noir et Or and Lanaudière Triades were promoted from Division 3 to Division 2.

Regarding Division 3, it will consist of fifteen teams in 2014, with the arrival of new teams from Shawinigan College and St-Hyacinthe, and thirteen teams for the 2015 season.

Starting next season, there will  be a total of 33 teams taking part in CEGEP football and it should be noted that some specific regulation changes of these divisions could be made. These formulas would affect particular competition and the teams for the playoffs. The official college football schedules will be announced in March 2014 via the RSEQ.CA website.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
