CEGEP recruit ecstatic to be part of McGill’s “powerful story of tradition”

CEGEP linebacker joins RSEQ team’s 2016 class.

Vincent Beausejour will be continuing his gridiron career in La Belle Province.

Over the weekend, the 6’0, 215 pound linebacker from Joliette, Quebec committed with the McGill Redmen.  Beausejour will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ season.

“I am really proud to join the Redmen organization,” expressed Beausejour.  “This is a program with a powerful story of tradition.”

“For me, the choice wasn’t really hard to make.”

One of the main reasons for choosing the Montreal, Quebec school is academics.

“For me, school is the most important thing in my football career,” elaborated the Quebec linebacker.  “McGill offers me the chance to study in one of the best Canadian business programs.”

Moreover, the opportunity to be instructed once again by Redmen Head Coach Ron Hilaire excites Beausejour.

“I’ve been coached by Coach Ron Hilaire with Team Québec 2013 in and I really appreciate his vision of coaching,” reflected the defensive standout.  “He is the type of coach that will always push me to my best performances game after game.”

There were a couple of special reasons why the Redmen was a lucrative choice.

“My ex-teammate in CEGEP, Karl Forgues has talked to me a lot about the great atmosphere around this team,” added Beasejour.  “Also, the commitments of some of my Team Quebec mates had an important influence on my decision.”

Currently, Beausejour is completing his final season with CEGEP Division 2 team, Lanaudiere Triades.  In seven games in the 2015 season, the linebacker has registered 38.5 tackles (29 solo, 19 assisted), recorded a sack, four tackles for a loss and one batted ball.
