RSEQ honoured the top student-athletes League Division 1 college football at the annual banquet at the John Molson Hall in Montreal. Hugo Henderson (Montreal, QC) of Vieux Montreal Spartiates and Dominic Lévesque (St-Georges-de-Beauce, QC) of Champlain Lennoxville-Cougars received special recognition.
Quarterback Hugo Henderson was named MVP of the year. In his third year as starting quarterback of the Spartiates, he had 165 completions in 256 attempts for 2,257 passing yards and 23 touchdowns. He led his team to a record of nine wins and one loss for first place in the league. His 2,257 yards are the best total in CEGEP Division 1.
For its part, Dominic Lévesque of the Cougars has won three titles dedicated as kicker and Special Teams MVP. As a kicker, he has 14 field goals in 18 attempts and also maintained an average of 40 yards on 53 punts.
Gabriel Parent (Lorraine, QC) of Montmorency Nomades [CFC TOP 100] was awarded Offensive Player of the Year, the tailback has accumulated 973 yards on 122 carries and 250 passing yards. Mathieu Betts (Montreal, QC) of Vieux Montreal Spartiates was chosen Defensive Player of the Year. Meanwhile, Francis Chabot (Québec, QC) pf FX- Garneau Elans [CFC TOP 100] was named Best Offensive Lineman. Rookie of the year was awarded to Jean-Philippe Hudon (Quebec, QC) of Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy as he led the league with 62 tackles including 14 for loss and 1 interception.
The Vieux Montreal Spartiates saw their coaching staff be rewarded for their work throughout the season. Lévis-Lauzon Faucons were also rewarded for their sports ethics.

During the banquet, Jean-Philippe Aumont of Vieux Montreal Spartiates, William Robitaille of Champlain College Cougars, Pierre-Olivier Laurendeau of Édouard-Montpetit Lynx, Jean-Michel Plante of FX-Garneau Elans, Thomas Ferland-Dionne of Montmorency Nomades and Brendan Coffey of Vanier Cheetahs have been designated as student-athletes for their respective teams. Jean-Philippe Aumont (Montreal, Que.) of Vieux Montreal Spartiates has won Student-Athlete of the Year.
