Coach Warren Craney: York Lions
Coach Warren Craney has been the York Lions University Football head coach since 2010 and he’s also the team’s defensive coordinator. In 2013, Coach Craney was named the head coach of the Canadian junior national team for the 2014 and 2016 International Federation of American Football (IFAF) U19 world championships. In 2014 he led the Canadians to a silver-medal finish in Kuwait, and he previously served as the defensive coordinator for Team Canada twice, helping the squad upset the United States.
Prior to York, Craney joined Concordia’s coaching staff after a three-year stint as the defensive coordinator at Vanier College. Throughout his coaching career, which has spanned nearly two decades, he has also served as a guest coach at the University of Michigan Football School and University of Nebraska in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and with several teams in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
