On Sunday mornng at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton, running back Antonio Corsi tallied two majors to guide Team East to a 27-6 win over Team Halton-Peel at the 2016 Ontario Prospect Challenge.
Isaiah Knight opened the scoring in the first quarter as he sprinted down the field for a 54 yard touchdown. In the second quarter, Corsi would add to the lead as he snuck into the end zone for a 1 yard major.
Before the half, Team Halton-Peel would get on the scoreboard as JD Meyers connected with Cedric Smith for a touchdown to cut down the deficit 13-6.
In the third quarter, Corsi would score as he dashed into the end zone for a nine yard touchdown, his second of the game. Knight put the game out of reach in the final frame as he scored a 1 yard major.
Team Halton-Peel had four turnovers on downs as opposed to Team East’s 1.
For his efforts, Corsi was named Big Kahuna Sports Company MVP. Furthermore, Team Halton-Peel running back Jayden Banks was chosen as Spalding Offensive Player of the Game while Team East linebacker Scott Miron was Russell Athletics Defensive Player of the Game.
