The Peewee Blue Giants defeated the Mission 9ers 43-12 on Saturday thanks to a tremendous team effort. Emilio Pineda, Jake Troyan, Ethan Mastin, Spencer Breslin, Wyatt Uzick, Gabe Mannes and Michael Lengert all scored TDs for the Blue Giants.
Kick Returner Gabe Mannes scored two TDs on three kickoff returns and had over 150 returning yards while QB Wyatt Uzick was 3-3 passing for 37 yds and two TDs. Pineda carried the ball 6 times for 78 yards while Mannes had 5 carries for 86 yards. Kickers Breslin and Lengert added converts and Breslin ran in a convert on a broken play as well.
Mastin and Troyan, both seeing action as running back for the first time in regular season, ran the ball for 32 and 38 yards respectively on 5 and 4 carries with each scoring a TD. On defense Noah Chand led the way with 3 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Several players recorded sacks including Chand, Sureet Pabbi, Aaron Guliker, Reese Smith, Tommy Janzen, and Jaren Lengert. Brendan Piegsa and Adam Phillips were standouts on defense as well with TD saving tackles from the safety position.

PeeWee Red Roars Back
After a dismal first game of the season losing 0 – 32 against Meadow Ridge on September 4th , the PeeWee Red Giants spent a week of tough practices working out the issues and making adjustments. It worked. This past weekend the squad beat the Langley Bears 20 – 0. Kobe Pool lead the team with a touchdown, a sack and an interception for a big run back. Miguel Wood also had a touchdown and an on-side kick recovery. Brody Porter also found the endzone and lead the offense in yards gained. Gabe Olivares added a two point convert to the tally. On defense, the power of the defensive line prevented Langley from getting any kind of a rhythm going as the Chilliwack linemen were constantly in the Langley backfield. The strong tackling Ethen Pearce and Ryan Clayton on defense prevented any big plays from the Langely offense.
This Saturday is Chilliwack Minor Football day at Townsend Park in Chilliwack. The schedule of games is as set out below.
