His first was a career long and came on a 63-yard romp late in the opening quarter. He added two more in the second quarter from 33 and five yards, then capped off his day with an 8-yard major on the first series of the third quarter. It was his last touch of the night, giving him all of his stats in just over two quarters’ work.
The Haskayne School of Business student has 14 all-purpose touchdowns on the year – just three shy of the Dinos’ record of 17 set by Don Blair in his 1995 Hec Crighton-winning season. Timmis has tied the school record of 13 rushing touchdowns in a year and sits just one back of the Canada West record in that category – with three games left on the schedule.
The 5-0 Dinos can clinch first place in Canada West with a win over the Saskatchewan Huskies Friday night at Griffiths Stadium in Saskatoon (7 p.m., Shaw TV).
DEFENCE: #3 Connor Lesperance, Manitoba

With Regina trying to get back into the contest at the end of the third, Lespernace had his first interception against backup John Kiesman as the Rams were deep in Bison territory and made a toe-tap catch on the sidelines on a tipped ball to end the threat. On the second interception, Regina had narrowed the lead to 12 points early in the fourth and Lesperance jumped up high to pick the ball off as Regina started the drive at mid-field and had a 45-yard return. With the great field position off the interception, the BIsons scored on the ensuing possession and salted the game away with a touchdown.
Lesperance added two solo tackles in the victory. The Winnipeg native has played in all five conference games so far this season in his rookie campaign and registered 12.0 tackles with two break-ups and two interceptions in 2013.
