When Hunter started out playing football, he suited up the Calgary Bulldogs. He would remain there until he was 16 years of age. Consequently, the defensive back made the natural progression into the high school ranks, playing for the Henry Wise Wood Warriors.
Representing his province, Hunter played for Team Alberta twice. Furthermore, the Warriors defensive standout was a midget league all-star, and selected to both the Calgary select team and Team South for the Senior Bowl.
Next season, Hunter will continue to play football in his hometown. Recently, he decided to commit to the University of Calgary. Academics and the strong relationship with the Dinos coaching staff were the main reasons Hunter felt the school was the perfect fit for him.
“I choose Calgary because of the relationship I built with coaches over the past three years and Calgary started talking to me in grade 10,” explains the future Dinos player, who plans on pursuing a business degree at school. “I did not commit till about three months ago and I took all my official visits and found the best place for me was at home.”
“I took interest in the business program at University of Calgary too so that was a huge deciding factor.”
Hunter’s family have played a huge role in his life on and off the field. He is grateful for all they have done for him.
“My most memorable football experience would probably be playing football with my family when was young,” adds the Warriors defensive back. “My family is very close to me and they are a big part of my life.”
“They have all supported me throughout my football career.”
In order to achieve further success at the University of Calgary, Hunter will take with him the recipe for success that has netted him positive results thus far.
“Football has taught me good team work and nothing comes easy in life you have to work very hard to achieve your goals,” says Hunter.
