Class 2012

As mentioned above Nathan stared playing football in the Abbotsford Falcon minor organization at age 9. In 5 years of playing for Abbotsford the team lost only 4 games, earned 4 Fraser Valley championships, and 2 well deserved provincial championships.
Nathan has played for his high school, W.J. Mouat the last 2 seasons, gaining a reputation for his versatility. In 2011 he has already been announced as a team captain and will probably be playing on both sides of the ball. In 2009 he won “most outstanding back award”.

His most memorable football experience was in “Grade 10, in the quarter finals, on the Hawks Jr. Varsity team, we had 2 minutes to get 90 yards. The whole team did there part and contributed to each well earned yard, completing multiple fourth down conversions. Specifically, I contributed by blocking the other teams DBs, catching passes and being a leader on the field. With about 3 seconds left the offense made it down to about the 5 yard line. Our second string kicker then came onto the field and after a bad snap, managed to kick the game winning field goal!”
Most influential people include: “My Dad is the most influential person in my life, because he coached me all through my community football years and continues to inspire me. Both of my parents have supported me in all my athletic and academic pursuits. It is an honor to play for the Legendary Coach Kelly. He is my current Varsity Coach, and he has so much knowledge about football that he shares wit the team. He has always believed in me. When I was still a Junior Varsity player, he invited me to dress for the senior team in 2009.”
Nathan, like a few other Mouat players, has his own website which can be found at: http://www.nathanhenczel.com/
He strives to be a leader on his team, community and school. He has a GPA in acces of 3.5 an has always been an honour roll student. He works year-round on his speed and agility with top provincial trainer Kim Chapdelaine. He is both a Pole Vaulter and 4×100 relay runner. Nathan also enjoys snow-boarding and volunteering in his community.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
