Laurier adds three local recruits to their 2018 class.
It’s safe to say that Ryan Firman, an offensive lineman from Resurrection Catholic Secondary School, is ready to get to work with his new team, the Sir Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks.
Defensive lineman Benjamin Ibrahim and running back Remi Ilori from Kitchener Collegiate Institute will also be joining the Golden Hawks.

For Ryan Firman, a commitment to Laurier is a commitment to a strong work ethic. Hailing from Waterloo, Ontario, he said he chose the school because of “the location, the dedication to hard work and the coaches.”
He added that, “(They’re) very inspiring coaches, some of the best in the country and they can teach me a lot, more than any other coach can. It’s a proud moment after working hard on the field and in the gym. I feel like Coach Irv can help me reach my potential.”
Friman’s career has spanned over nine years. The 6’3, 260lbs guard and defensive tackle has played with the Waterloo Region Predators and the Resurrection Phoenix (WCSSAA). In 2015, he was the game MVP of the Waterloo regional all-star game. He is interested in sociology.
Benjamin Ibrahim
Benjamin Ibrahim is also from Waterloo, Ontario. He was a member of the 2017 Predators. Standing at 6’2, 255lbs, the lineman played with the Kitchener CI Raiders (WCSSAA).
