Crawford appointed interim OUA executive director

A former football and track and field standout at Queen’s University, Crawford has held various roles within OUA since he joined the regional association staff in 2007. He served as sport programming coordinator while serving as special teams captain of the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts, for whom he played from 2005 to 2011. In addition to his role on the field and in the dressing room with the Argos, Crawford spent five years as a member of the CFL Players’ Association (CFLPA) board of representatives and was deeply involved throughout the last collective bargaining negotiations. Upon his retirement from professional football, Crawford took on the more senior role of sport programming manager at the OUA office.

“Bryan has demonstrated strong leadership within the office during this transition and is familiar with all aspects of the organization’s operations,” said Jennifer Myers, OUA president. “He has the full confidence of the board of directors and I am thrilled to have someone with Bryan’s skills to see us through this period of change.”

“I am excited to take on the role of interim executive director during this important time of growth and transition within our organization,” said Crawford. “I am looking forward to working with our outstanding team, alongside our members and partners as we continue to deliver exceptional experiences for OUA student-athletes.”

The OUA human resources committee will reinstate a hiring search for a full time executive director in the new year.
