LENNOXVILLE, Que. – The Bishop’s University Department of Athletics announced Thursday that football Offensive Coordinator Benoit Groulx is leaving the University, with immediate effect.
Groulx, 26, served two seasons as the Gaiters’ Offensive Coordinator, after having been named to the post in January 2010.
“I appreciated the opportunity to move straight from the playing field to a coordinator position, and I will always be thankful for the challenge that Leroy Blugh and Bishop’s gave me.” said Groulx.
During his tenure, Groulx led a Gaiters offence that set a school record with 2,735 passing yards in 2011, finishing third in the CIS with 303.9 passing yards per game.
“We’d like to thank Benoit for his service to our football program,” said Head Coach Kevin Mackey. “We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavours.”
The Gaiters will name a new Offensive Coordinator in the coming weeks.
