NEW WESTMINSTER, BC – The Hardy Cup Playoffs on Global Television begin Saturday, November 7 in Vancouver (12 p.m. PT/2 p.m. CT), as a national television audience will watch the UBC Thunderbirds host the defending Hardy Cup champion Manitoba Bisons in the Hardy Cup Semifinals.
In addition to the matchup between the T-Birds and Bisons, Global is also the home of the 79th Hardy Cup, which is slated for Saturday, November 14.
Fresh off a 24-10 victory in the Canada West regular season finale, the Thunderbirds earned the right to host the nationally televised game after finishing second in Canada West, just behind the Calgary Dinos.
The Dinos face the Saskatchewan Huskies in the other Hardy Cup Semifinal November 7 (1 p.m. MT/2 p.m. CT), with the game available exclusively on Canadawest.tv – the official streaming home of Canada West.
Together, the Hardy Cup Semifinal between UBC and Manitoba, along with the 79th Hardy Cup on Global will represent the largest ever televised distribution of a Canadian university sporting event, with Global televising both games coast-to-coast.
The pair of televised games on Global were made possible through Canada West’s ongoing partnership with Global Television’s parent company Shaw Communications and the N8 Group, which works to promote university sport across Canada through media, marketing, and event management.
In addition to being broadcast on Global, both Hardy Cup Semifinals and 79th Hardy Cup will be available online at Canadawest.tv.
