Holland College Hurricanes hit the road to play Dalhousie Tigers in third game of AFL season

Charlottetown, PEI –The Holland College Hurricanes Football Club will play the Dalhousie Tigers in their third game of the season at Wickwire Field in Halifax this Saturday night.

The game promises to be exciting, with the teams tied at 1-1 in the league standings; but head coach Mark MacDougall says his team is ready to tame the Tigers.

“Last year, the Hurricanes were undefeated against the Tigers, and the team is planning to keep that record going,” he said. “The game is part of Dalhousie University’s homecoming celebrations, so the stands will be packed with Tiger supporters. We’re hoping some Hurricanes fans will be able to make the trip to cheer our guys on.”

The Hurricanes last game, against the UNB Fredericton Red Bombers, was a hard-fought loss for the team ending with a score of 28-21 for the Red Bombers. MacDougall said the team learned some valuable lessons that game, and will be applying them on Saturday.

In other AFL action this weekend, the UNB Saint John Seawolves, currently in last place in the standings, visit the first place UNB Fredericton Red Bombers at the UNB BMO Center Field. The Tigers will meet up with the Hurricanes again on October 6 at the UPEI Canada Games Alumni Place.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
