HURRICANES PREPARE FOR GAME AGAINST DALHOUSIE TIGERS
Thursday, September 26, 2013. Charlottetown, PE – After a hard-fought victory last Sunday against the UNB Red Bombers, the Holland Hurricanes are preparing to go up against the Dalhousie Tigers this Saturday at 1 p.m. at UPEI Alumni Canada Games Place. The Hurricanes and the Tigers are tied for second place going into the game.
“The team is excited about playing against Dalhousie,” head coach Mark MacDougall said. “Every game is a learning experience, and we’re glad to have two under our belts before facing this team.”
To add another layer of interest, some of the Hurricanes will be looking into the eyes of former teammates as they hit the field. Linebacker/fullback Andrew Oake, receivers Luke Williams and Robbie Tufts, and quarterback Nick Hunsley are all former Hurricanes now playing for the Tigers.
“It’s going to be an interesting game, with two teams so well-matched,” said MacDougall. “We are going to have to maintain our focus and be relentless on both sides of the ball.”
Holland College is partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society for this week’s game to raise awareness about cancer prevention and screening. Chefs from the Culinary Institute of Canada will cater the best tailgate party in the country, and the Welshmen Community Pep Band will be in the stands to keep the energy level high and to spur the Hurricanes on to victory.
