OVFL JV: Ironmen grab second regular season win
The junior varsity Hamilton Ironmen got their second win of the season as they crushed the Markham Raiders 35-7 in Ontario Varsity Football League action this past weekend.
Daniel Skuse opened the scoring in the first quarter for the Ironmen as he tallied a nine yard touchdown score. TJ Claxton would add to the lead as he ran the ball into the end zone for 36 yards. Still in the first quarter of the game, quarterback Alex DiPietro connected with Nick DeLuca for a 20 yard touchdown.
The Raiders would get on the scoreboard early in the second quarter as quarterback Shayan Hassanzadeh found Robert Barberi for a 25 yard major. However, the Ironmen would respond later in the frame as David Benedetti had a 15 yard touchdown.
By halftime, the Ironmen enjoyed a 37-7 lead.
In the second half, the only points tallied on the scoreboard were from the Ironmen as Kieran Gargarello ran the ball into the end zone for a two yard major. DeLuca was successful on three conversion attempts.
Also this weekend, the bantam Ironmen was victorious as they got by the Raiders 48-33 to improve to 5-1 on the season.
