CEGEP defensive lineman joins RSEQ team’s 2016 class
Antoine Gagnon plans to continue his gridiron career in his home province
The 6’1, 310 pound defensive lineman (nose tackle) from Terrebonne, Quebec committed to the McGill Redmen. Gagnon will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ season.
One of the major reasons he chose the Redmen was the strength of the academic programs at the campus. The school provides him the best opportunity to excel in the future.
“I decided to attend and play for McGill after CEGEP because the academic level is great,” elaborated Gagnon. “I believe the education I will get there is going to help me achieve my goals.”
Furthermore, the defensive standout likes the direction that the Redmen is headed towards. He feels that he will benefit from the instruction that Head Coach Ron Hilaire and the entire Redmen staff will give him for the duration of his CIS career.
“I also did because I have a great feeling about the coaching staff and what coach Ron Hilaire is doing with the team right now,” added Gagnon. “McGill has absolutely everything in my opinion to become an elite team and I wanted to be part of this exciting program.”
“I am also definitely looking forward to getting coached there as they gathered a very strong coaching staff.”
This fall, Gagnon will complete his final season with CEGEP Division 2 team, Lionel Groulx Nordiques.
