MGFA girls football starts thursday: CFL coaches LaPolice & Harris help last weekend


The MGFA (Manitoba Girls Football Association) is the first 10-12 year-old all girls full contact football program in the country.

As you can see in the picture, Paul LaPolice and Richard Harris were guest coaches and at the skills camp kick off last weekend

. They have promised the girls that they will come out and watch them when they have the chance as the games are in their back yard. Stan Pierre of the University of Manitoba Bisons is the head coach of the Charleswood Broncos and the entire football community is backing the league!!

The kick off on May 12, was a skills and drills program involving all the girls and coaches working together and having fun. The league is starting off this year with three teams playing 6 a side football.

The first game will be played this Thursday May 19th at CanadInn stadium between the St Vital Mustangs and the Charleswood Broncos. Kick off is 6:30, everyone welcome.
