The defence played an excellent game holding the Tide to no score until the last 2 minutes of the first half. The offence moved the ball well but a few minor injuries left us short in the second half.
The turning point came in the last 2 minutes of the half when the Storm was up 1 – 0 and allowed the Tide to score and then recover two onside kicks and score quickly on both positions making the score 21 – 1 going in at the half.
Head Coach Dave Richardson said “Offensively and Defensively the team played well today. Special teams was our short coming and we will work on them and be ready for Rexdale when they come to our field next Sunday.”

Our offensive line is playing at a very high level right now, dominating and executing at the point of attack. It’s nice to see our running backs 5 yards deep before they are being touched by any defender. With all of the drama of the previous week it didn’t seem to affect us on the field. The effort level was still there!
There were many turning points in this game. After coming out and leading 21-7 just after the first quarter we made some errors which let them back into the game just before the half. The incident along the side lines that occurred in the second half really charged up our kids and on a 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 8yds Kurt Katool made an amazing catch from Riley McCabe that eventually lead to a Storm touchdown.
Mitchell Sheehan was again a force with Cole Heinrich’s having a really strong day running the ball. Riley McCabe threw for 2 TD’s and made some big money throws when we needed first downs. Kurt Katool was a beast on defence and was punishing on special teams.
Mitchell Sheehan, Benny Ferrera, and Austin Wheaton all scored rushing TD and Owen Austin scored on a 55yd pass from Riley McCabe. Taylor Richardson converted all but 2 TD’s. One was blocked and the other was a high snap.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
