OMFL: Varsity Storm limp out of game – JV’s win…then lose

Varsity

Niagara Storm 2 North Halton Crimson Tide 35

The Niagara Storm limped into the game with many of their key players injured and with mostly back-ups. The defence saw the field for most of the game holding the Crimson Tide to 35 points; with the Storm’s offense unable to sustain a drive throughout the game.

Players of Game:

#22 Mitch Gardiner – Led team with Tackles
#30 Jesse Willick – Forced fumble and safety

Turning Point:

With so many injuries and hurt players the game was one sided from the first drive when North Halton drove the field for the first score.

“I felt that even with the short bench due to injuries, we should have played better than we did. The defence came out flat and then picked it up a bit causing a safety for the second game this season, but was unable to stop the passing game of the Crimson Tide.”

JV Storm 54 – Halton 20

The Storm O-line again had a good day opening holes for the running game. The offense is rolling right now and a big part is the Big O-LINE.

Players of Game:

Mitchell Sheehan, Austin Wheaton had outstanding games. Benny Ferrera was a beast! On the defence Kurt Katool and Jake Richardson had solid games.

Turning Point:

Mitchell Sheehan took off untouched for an 85 yard TD. That set the tone and our offense never looked back!

“Over coming mistakes was the theme for this week’s game. We made lots of silly errors early but our effort level was great as it has been this year which has allowed us to overcome difficult situations this year. I’m proud of my team for their resolve but this week we will be focusing on correcting those mistakes.”
