Jordan Lyons’ 29 yard rushing major in the third quarter was all that CFC #38 Assumption Crusaders needed as the team won their first Halton Tier 1 title since 2005. The Crusaders defeated CFC # 26 Corpus Christi Longhorns 9-0.
The only other points in the final came early in the fourth quarter, as the Longhorns conceded a safety to the Crusaders.
With this championship win, the Crusaders advance to the Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference (GHAC) final on Thursday November 21st, where the team will meet the winner of the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic Athletic Association (HWCAA) final (Bishop Tonnos/Cardinal Newman).
