Patrick-Jalen Briggs’ experience to date has been great.

He loves playing his position, defensive back, because he gets a rush that you cannot from anything else.

The cornerback loves to play football because he likes to make his team proud and he loves the teamwork involved.

He also loves the fans cheering him on if he does a good play.

“It’s an adrenaline rush to hear them and it pumps me up every time knowing I’m doing something right and it shows that I can do this at my full capability,” said Jalen.

He loves tackling, intercepting, getting fumbles and he plans on playing way into the future.

Currently, Jalen plays for the Franco Cite Falcons, and had an undefeated season.

“I love playing football, it’s my passion, so I improve each day by staying in shape,” said Jalen.

During the offseason, the Falcon does a lot of at home exercises, mixed martial arts, kickboxing and NOGI, which is like headlocks, arm locks and wrestling.

He also plays basketball games with his friends and uses the weight room at school.

Moreover, his goal for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) is to show them what skills and dedication he has.

“My desire is to make Top 100 to show that I’m a good football player,” commented Jalen. “I know I can make it on the team.”

“I just have to give it my all, even if I don’t make it,” added the Falcon. “If I don’t make it I won’t get discouraged. I will get back up and work even harder and improve on my mistakes.”

On the field, his idol is Malcolm Butler, the New England Patriot’s cornerback.

Butler is his idol because during Super Bowl 49 he caught an interception when the Seahawks were about to score, which ended up causing the Patriots to win.

“He showed me to never give up and to be ready for anything and you can do anything you put your mind to,” said Jalen.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
