Carsten Moffatt has played three seasons with the Sault Minor Football program.
During the offseason, the linebacker pays hockey, soccer, basketball, as well as speed skating and weight training.
Moreover, Carsten also participated in the 2015 Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) as a member of the Team Halton-Peel squad.
This year, he is aiming even higher when it comes to OPC.
“My goals for this year’s OPC are secure a spot on the starting defence, be a captain on the team [and] 10 plus tackles in the game,” said Carsten.
On the field, one of his idols is Derrick Coleman Jr. because of his determination to overcome obstacles and his dedication to his community. Another one is Marshawn Lynch because of this beast mentality.
Overall, Carsten is passionate about the game for a couple of reasons.
“I love football because of the team effort,” explained the linebacker. “The entire team must work together to succeed.”
“I like the specialized roles that make up a football team. I love the physical and mental demands.”
