Jake Heydon got his start at the age of seven in the Windsor Minor Football Association (WMFA). He continued to play there until the age of 12.
During his time in the WMFA, the quarterback played in numerous All Star games and received an MVP Award.
Heydon was also awarded bantam Team MVP for the Essex Ravens of the Ontario Minor Football League (OMFL).
The quarterback moved on the bantam Essex Ravens of the Ontario Varsity Football League’s (OVFL). The team made an appearance in the divisional final. He was also the team’s kicker and was selected to the OVFL All-Star team at the quarterback position.
Additionally, Heydon was invited to attend the Football University (FBU) Top Gun Competition in Dublin, Ohio.
The quarterback participates in various activities during the offseason to improve his athletic and football abilities. He attends the Ravens Core Training program, works out at the gym, as well as plays hockey and travel volleyball. He also plays a handful of school sports, such as soccer, basketball and badminton.
For the upcoming Ontario Prospect Challenge Challenge (OPC), Heydon would like to achieve several goals while taking in the entire experience.
“My goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to be selected as a member of the team, to work as a team player with other football players from across Ontario and to give it my 100 percent at all times,” said Heydon. “I also hope to be coached by coaches from across Ontario and to experience the best from all of them, and I just want to play football.”
In his graduating year, the Raven standout would like to find himself of the CFC 100.
“I would like to achieve as many goals as I possibly can in life,” explains the quarterback. “The CFC 100 list would be an amazing accomplishment in my football career.”
He loves to play the sport for many reasons, including the brotherhood-like bond with his team.
“I love the excitement on game day and that training all year around keeps me active and healthy,” added the Raven. “I also love how football teaches me discipline and self respect.”
