The Ottawa Myers Riders are the only remaining undefeated team left standing after Week 5 of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).
After defeating their latest victims, Oshawa Hawkeyes 45-8, the Myers Riders are tops in the league with a perfect 5-0 record.
Four teams sit with 4-1 records – Essex Ravens, Niagara Spears, Cambridge Lions and Scarborough Thunder. All four teams were victorious this past weekend.
Other Week 5 OVFL winners include Cornwall Wildcats, Etobicoke Eagles, Kingston Grenadiers and Mississauga Warriors.
Teams that won this past weekend in the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) include Brantford Bisons, Twin Cities Predators, Sudbury Gladiators, Nipissing Wild and Toronto Jr Argos.

CORNWALL WILDCATS 31, METRO TORONTO WILDCATS 14:
At Esther Shriner Stadium, Pat Giroux, Justin Cloutier and Sam Douglas each scored a touchdown as the Cornwall Wildcats won 31-14 over the Metro Toronto Wildcats.
At halftime, Cornwall enjoyed a 17-0 lead over Metro Toronto.
ETOBICOKE EAGLES 22, HALTON COWBOYS 14:
At Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School, Niko Hamilton tallied two majors and rushes for 91 yards on 21 carries as the Etobicoke Eagles defeated the Halton Cowboys 22-14.
Alex Daley converted a return kickoff into a 95 yard touchdown score. Jesse Amankwaa rushed for 91 yards on 11 carries for the Eagles.
KINGSTON GRENADIERS 71, MARKHAM RAIDERS 10:
At LCVI, the Kingston Grenadiers’ offense exploded as the team crushed the Markham Raiders 71-10.
Pivot Dylan Fisher completed 11 passes in 21 attempts for 179 yards and four passing touchdowns in to spearhead the Grenadiers offense.
Jeremy Pendergast scored a touchdown and racked up 94 yards on three receptions (average of 31.3 yards per reception) in the victory. Nathan Thompson converted a punt return into a touchdown score.
Harry Robinson caught an interception and ran it into the end zone for a 43 yard score. He registered a solo and three assisted tackles for the Grenadiers.
Michael Bashall added two field goals (including a 43 yard attempt) as well as nine PAT’s in the win.
As for the Raiders, Matt Prucha completed eight passes in 21 attempts for 183 yards and a passing touchdown. Dale Wright rushed for 81 yards on 13 carries and added a 13 yard field goal as well as a PAT. Mason Posival had 82 yards on two receptions (average of 41 yards per reception).
SCARBOROUGH THUNDER 8, CUMBERLAND PANTHERS 7:
At Millennium Park, Rakeem Simms rushed for 137 yards on 18 carries as the Scarborough Thunder edged the Metro Toronto Thunder 8-7.
Chris Larsen completed 11 passes in 26 attempts for 101 yards and a passing touchdown.
Nathaniel Anderson registered two solo and eight assisted tackles as well as a solo and an assisted sack. Matthew Vieira caught an interception and added five solo and two assisted interceptions in the victory.
As for the Panthers, Cedric Ky rushed for 151 yards on 24 carries.
Will Karam registered nine solo and ten assisted tackles as well as recorded a solo sack in the win. Additionally, Matt Cook had six solo and nine assisted tackles as well as two solo tackles for the Panthers.
Jonathan Meyer was successful on a conversion attempt.
ESSEX RAVENS 49, CAMBRIDGE LIONS 17:
At the University of Windsor, Eli Fera rushed for 187 yards on 22 carries and tallied two majors as the Essex Ravens cruised to a 49-17 victory over the Cambridge Lions.
Matteo Del Brocco also scored two touchdowns and racked up 149 yards on four receptions for the Ravens. Pivot Anthony Bontorin completed nine passes in 13 attempts for 226 yards and three passing touchdowns.
Pivot James Roberts completed 18 passes in 32 attempts for 172 passing yards for the Lions. Kieran Burnham added a 29 yard field goal and two PAT’s in the loss.
MISSISSAUGA WARRIORS 34, LONDON JR MUSTANGS 1:
At Loyola Catholic Secondary School, Nate Hobbs completed 12 passes in 26 attempts for 252 yards and four passing touchdowns as the Mississauga Warriors coasted to a 34-1 win over the London Jr Mustangs.
Nicholaus Sutherland-Barnes scored twice and rushed for 207 yards on 11 carries (average of 18.8 yards per carry) in the win. Rochae Henry had 67 yards on three receptions (average of 22.3 yards per reception) for the Warriors. Dante Brown was successful on three conversion attempts.
As for the Mustangs, Cole Kussman rushed for 136 yards on 24 carries in the loss.
NIAGARA SPEARS 38, HAMILTON IRONMEN 7:
At Kiwanis Field, Brandon Solanski tallied two majors and had 95 yards on three receptions (average of 31.7 yards per reception) as the Niagara Spears defeated the Hamilton Ironmen 38-7.
Cameron MacDonald scored a touchdown and rushed for 129 yards on 12 carries for the Spears. Levar Lashington-Francis also had a touchdown and rushed for 82 yards on 10 carries.
Pivot Riley McCabe completed six passes in 11 attempts for 131 yards and a passing touchdown in the victory. Michael Domagala added a 28 yard field goal and six PAT’s.
Darius Lameire completed 17 passes in 35 attempts for 169 yards and a passing touchdown for the Ironmen. Brett Haynes tallied the lone major and racked up 95 yards on seven receptions in the loss. Charlie Taggart was successful on the conversion attempt.
Matthew Speakman led the Ironmen defense as he caught an interception as well as registering seven solo and three assisted tackles.
OTTAWA MYERS RIDERS 45, OSHAWA HAWKEYES 8:
At Oshawa Civic Stadium, Matthew Duffy completed 15 passes in 21 attempts for 243 yards and four passing touchdowns as the Ottawa Myers Riders cruised to a 45-8 victory over the Oshawa Hawkeyes.
Keenan Tanti (73 yards on six carries) and Jahdel Ferron (72 yards on eight carries) each tallied a major for the Myers Riders. Nick Krazniak had 75 yards on five receptions (average of 15 yards per reception).
Connor Ayre added a 22 yard field goal and six PAT’s in the win.
On defense, Brad Herbst caught an interception and had four solo and five assisted tackles.
As for the Hawkeyes, Idahosa Yorke amassed 11 yards on six receptions for 110 yards (average of 18.3 yards per reception) while Braeden Vavassori had 89 yards on five receptions (average of 17.8 yards per reception). Jordan Baronet added a PAT in the loss.
On defense, Drue Moore racked up eight solo and two assisted tackles as well as recorded a solo sack. Dylan Hutcheson registered three solo and five assisted tackles as well as a solo and an assisted sack for the Hawkeyes.
