Revised Canada West TV schedule showcases road to the Hardy Cup

Two key games on the road to the Hardy Cup Playoffs are set to take centre stage during the final weeks of the Canada West Universities Athletic Association (CWUAA) football regular season,as changes to the conference’s football television schedule were announced Thursday.

The race for playoff positioning highlights the Week 7 Krown Produce Canada West Football on Shaw matchup between the UBC Thunderbirds and Saskatchewan Huskies under the Friday night lights of Griffiths Stadium in Saskatoon on October 23 (Shaw TV/Access/7:00 PM CT/6:00 PM PT).

The game takes the place of the Regina vs. Calgary matchup from McMahon Stadium in Calgary on Saturday, October 24, which was originally scheduled to be televised, but can now be seen live only on Canadawest.tv.

Week 8’s televised matchup between the Manitoba Bisons and UBC Thunderbirds is shaping up to be a battle for home-field advantage in the Hardy Cup Playoffs, as the Bisons travel to Vancouver on Saturday, October 31 (Shaw TV/Access/2:00 PM CT/1:00 PM PT) to take on the T-Birds in the final regular season game of 2015.

Calgary’s trip to Edmonton on Saturday, October 31 (1:00 PM MT/12:00 PM PT)  – originally announced as a televised game – can now be seen on Canadawest.tv.

The Saskatchewan vs. Regina matchup on Friday, October 30 (Shaw TV/Access/7:00PM CT/6:00PM PT) remains televised.

2015 marks the ninth season of Krown Produce Canada West Football on Shaw TV, bringing Canada’s most competitive university football conference to fans across the country.

Each live, regular season television broadcast can be seen on local Shaw TV, Shaw HD, Shaw Direct 299 and on Access Communications’ channel 7/70. The N8 Group’s Krown Countdown U, Canada’s weekly college football show can be seen 30 minutes before each game during the regular season.

The 2015 Canada West football season culminates with the Hardy Cup Playoffs on Global Television, highlighted by Global’s national broadcast of the 79th Hardy Cup on Saturday, November 14th. Global will be the official home for the 2015 Hardy Cup Playoffs, also airing one of two Hardy Cup semi-finals across its network on Saturday, November 7.
