Université Laval  – The Laval Rouge et Or made a statement prior to the playoffs as the team defeated Sherbrooke Vert & Or 36-7 at -Université Laval TELUS Stadium before 13,035 people.
Ahead by two points after the first quarter, the Laval (6-1) have added 10 in the second quarter and never looked back, limiting their opponents to 195 total offense yards, against 381 for locals.
With the win, Laval will play in the semi-final at home on November 7, against an opponent yet to be determined, depending on the last week of the RSEQ regular season.
15′ #CFC100 Matthew Betts, who recorded four quarterback sacks, was complimented by his coach after the game.
“There is no worse,” oked Glen Constantin. “It’s special, that’s for sure.”
He might of had five now, if it were not for a penalty that recalled that one. He is very explosive, ”
Constantin was also very proud of the defensive unit, did very well against one of the best quarterbacks in the country.
“It was  one of our good games,” said Constantin.  “Marc Fortier had prepared the team”
“It helps when you’re able to put pressure on opponents like we did. ”
Dufour leading the charge
The Rouge et Or did not waste any time putting points on the scoreboard. After the defence stopped the Vert et Or, Antony Dufour took advantage of good blocks and returned a Mathieu Hébert 74 yard punt return into the end zone. It was 7-0.
An interception by the Vert et Or’s Olivier Langlois allowed them to have a chance to equalize the game. Jeremi Roch spotted Anthony Gosselin for the major moments later. With this, Roch equaled the RSEQ record for the greatest number of career touchdown passes (66) belonging to the former Rouge et Or player Benoit Groulx. Laval added a safety and the first quarter ended with the score 9-7 in favor of the Rouge et Or..
Dominic Lévesque added a 19-yard field goal and Felix Faubert-Lussier connected with  ’14 #CFC100 Hugo Richard on a 25 yard touchdown pass with 11 seconds to play.
