Senior Grenadiers en route to Ontario east division finals
Kingston, ON – Following this weekend’s 25-11 win over the Ottawa Sooners, the senior Grenadiers have advanced to the Ontario Provincial Football League (OPFL) east division finals.
“These young men have done everything the coaching staff has asked of them,” says acting president Alexandra Reyes-Walsh. “Our defence has been playing well all season and I don’t expect that will change this weekend.”
The Grenadiers will face the first place Durham Dolphins this Saturday, July 14, 3:30 p.m. at Pine Ridge Secondary School in Pickering. The Dolphins defeated the GMen 24-12 when they met earlier this season.
“The Grenadiers organization would like to thank our family and fans at home for always being there to show your ever growing spirit, support and love for football,” added Reyes-Walsh.
The east division champion will go on to challenge the winner of the west division, between the Hamilton Varsity TiCats and the London JR Mustangs, for the Provincial championship title. That game will take place on July 28 in Windsor Ontario.
