OFC:  Stallions win third straight conference title , meet Hamilton Hurricanes for Varsity Championship

The Huronia Stallions are the kings of the Mike Ramsay Conference.

Yesterday, the Stallions punched their ticket to the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) Varsity Championship after dispatching the Peterborough Wolverines 35-13.

This victory gives the Stallions their third consecutive conference title.

With a 7-3 lead in the first quarter, the Stallions increased their lead as pivot Adam Zussino continued to execute the team’s offensive game plan.   Zussino would connect with Danny Vandervoot for a touchdown to give the Stallions a 14-3 lead.

On a field goal attempt, Jesse Alves, who is behind the line of scrimmage throws the ball over the Brandon Johnson for a touchdown score later in the quarter.

At halftime, the Stallions enjoyed a 21-10 lead en route to the victory.

The Stallions have remained undefeated throughout the entire OFC season – 7-0 in the regular season, 2-0 in the playoffs. Now, the team will face their stiffest competition of the year at the OFC Varsity Championship final.  Waiting for the Stallions are the Hamilton Hurricanes, who also come into the championship undefeated (8-0 regular season, 2-0 playoffs).  Both teams will collide on Saturday August 10th, 2013 at Nelson Stadium in Burlington.  Kickoff is 4:30pm.

CFC will be live streaming the game.
