The Montreal Transit concluded their inaugural season in the Northern Football Conference on a high note as they downed the Calgary Gators 50-28 in Dollard des Ormeaux, QC to capture the Canadian Major Football League Championship.
Francois Bruno and Nigel Thomas paced the victors with two majors apiece while Patrick Jerome, Jourdain Alexis, and Andrew Hamilton had one touchdown each. Matt Trudeau was 7 for 7 on converts and William Dion added a kick off rouge. Andrew Complak led the Gators with a major and a 2 point convert with Orin Doneff and Andrew Hamilton each scoring a major and Ian Hewitt booting 2 field goals and two converts.
For their efforts, Jourdain Alexis, Ryan Perry and Francois Bruno of Transit were cited as Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Game respectively.
This marked the ninth time in the thirteen year history of the Sid Forster Memorial Trophy that the N.F.C. representative has brought the hardware home.
