NEW WESTMINSTER – While there’s still plenty up in the air heading into the final weekend of the Canada West football regular season, one thing is locked in when it comes to the Hardy Cup Playoffs – semifinal start times.
The start times for both conference semifinal games (Saturday, November 5) were announced Thursday, with the Regina Rams set to host one of the matchups (3:30 p.m. local) and either the Calgary Dinos, or Saskatchewan Huskies hosting the other semi (12 p.m. local), depending on the results from Week 8 of the regular season.
The Rams – who can finish the regular season atop the conference standings for the first time in program history with a win this weekend, or a Calgary loss – will host the second semifinal of the day beginning at 3:30 p.m. local time at Mosaic Stadium.
Regina will face either UBC, Manitoba, or Saskatchewan depending on this week’s regular season results.
In the other semifinal, Calgary or Saskatchewan will either play each other, or Calgary will host Manitoba depending on Week 8 results.
Both Hardy Cup semifinal games on November 5 will be televised, as Access Communications out of Regina will produce the Regina Rams game, while Shaw TV will produce the other semifinal.
The 80th Hardy Cup is slated for Saturday, November 12th.
All conference playoff games will be available on local Shaw TV, Shaw Direct 299, Shaw HD where available, Access Communications’ channel 7/70 and CanadaWest.tv.
